The first training topic, conflict resolution through circle processes was covered in two 3-day trainings in mid-October 2016 and end of October 2017 in the city of Ohrid. During these 6 days of training the participants have learned the method of circle processes that is a method of interpersonal conflict resolution that can be used in different circumstances and also in multi ethnic communities for overcoming of the differences and identification of the joint interest through a method where all participants, regardless of role or status, age or experience, are considered of equal importance, with equal voice. The participants stated their satisfaction from the implemented training.
The second training topic, fact – finding, data analysis and researching was covered in two 3-day trainings in the end of October 2016 and the beginning of October 2017 in the city of Ohrid. Within the 6 days, the expert has transferred the knowledge using the training of trainers’ approach and learning by doing. The general conclusions from the training were that knowledge for using different tools for fact finding and awareness of the importance of the public in the process of fact finding and data analysis were increased. The expert implemented evaluation for the training resulting with great satisfaction from the participants.
The third training topic, advocacy through interests-based negotiations was also covered in two 3-day trainings in the beginning of November 2016 and mid-September 2017 in the city of Ohrid. The participants increased their understanding and develop skills for advocacy to stimulate local community actions for participation in interest based local decision-making processes. The specific learning objectives of the training were to define the main community problem, to define common community interests, to define strategies for creating opinions and influence to the public, evaluation of the opinions and creation plan for advocacy measures.
The trainings have increased the knowledge of the participants, raised awareness of the importance of the common interests for all of the communities and developed pool of 110 members from mentor organizations and local self-government capable for supporting of the partnerships between civil society, decision makers in line of supporting the interethnic common interests.
