Within the project “Empowering minorities and specific groups to promote participatory democracy at community level” financed by ifa/Zivik. The Center for civic initiative – Prilep made a research in 10 municipalities in our country interviewing 500 citizens.
The aim of this research is, by using a determined methodology to assess the capacity of the citizens from their knowledge of the documents for citizens’ participation in the decision making, their motivation for inclusion in the democratic processes and the perception of the objectivity of the media in the reporting.
The results of the analysis will become the basis for the CCI team to prepare a Guide for political participation. The aim of this Guide is to raise the awareness and the knowledge for political participation. The Guide represents a training with guidelines and ideas for alternative forms of participation. The results from the research and the Guide are going to be promoted this autumn on meetings across the municipalities where the actions of this project will be implemented, and the Guide will also be available on the Website of the Center for civic initiative – Prilep.
