Celebration of 26th June International Day for Supports of Victims of Torture

Representatives of the CCI were in Belgrade and Nis on 26th and 27th June and attended the activities for marking the International Day for Support of Victims of Torture. These activities were organized by the partners from Serbia: IAN – Belgrade and Center for Human Rights – Nis, which were part of the project“Holistic Action against Torture“supported by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia.

 Representatives of the CCI were in Belgrade and Nis on 26th and 27th June and attended the activities for marking the International Day for Support of Victims of Torture. These activities were organized by the partners from Serbia: IAN – Belgrade and Center for Human Rights – Nis, which were part of the project“Holistic Action against Torture“supported by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia.

International Aid Network-IAN organized a series of activities to mark this day in Belgrade, including a press conference and theatric performance with the title “I Wish I Was Not a Woman”, which was based on the story of one of the refugee victims,organized with the help of IAN. The following day in the “Art Gallery 55” in Nis, a classical music concert was organized with the title “From East to West” which actually was a musical journey from Persia to the Balkans through the processing of folk songs in 12 different languages from the countries that have faced turbulent military period and historical turmoil. At the same time an exhibition of works was organized, made by IAN’s clients from the reception center in Bosilegrad, Serbia.
