Evgenija Jordanoska is managing the “Regional Youth Center” within the project “Empowering minorities and specific groups to promote participatory democracy at community level phase 2” implemented by the Center for Civic Initiative and supported by ifa/Zivik Federal Foreign Office of Federal Republic of Germany.

This center is available for the young people from 10 high schools involved in the project, but primarily for the youth groups of the Pelagonia region. The “Regional Youth Center” is located at str. Dimo Narednikot nn. (Erik Building) in Prilep.

What is the Regional Center actually and what is its purpose?

The regional center for young people is an activity within the project “Empowering minorities and specific groups to promote participatory democracy at community level phase 2”. This center represents an initiator, but also a place for the young people to be able to meet, share their ideas and develop initiatives. The youth center will be helping the young people in coordination with their needs, to organize variety of activities such as: Art activities, debates, discussions, musical activities, activities for the environment, etc. This center is actually a promoter and supporter of the youth activism.

How do you rate the interest of young people for cooperation and joint organizing of activities?

The young people are showing interest to be part of the project and to use the services of the center. What I specifically like is their enthusiasm and the high level of cooperation. The young people have many ideas and initiatives for cooperation in order to make a change in their municipalities. They are aware of the situation in their environment and prioritize their needs with which they are expressing the elements of social responsibility and activity in the local environment.

How can the young people get in contact with the Regional Center?

The Regional Centre is available every day for the young people. They can in any time, call the Center for Civic Initiative’s phone number – 048 400 480, as well as contact the center via the e-mail address [email protected].

What do you expect from the functioning of the Center?

I expect the Center to become more used and more involved in the activities of high school students and their schools. Also, the Center to be a supporter and promoter of the youth activism and at the same time to be a place where many new friendships and partnerships between the young people from the high schools involved, will be created.
